ABOUT US Established in 1980 within the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Suncoast Alzheimer's Gerontology Center has been at the forefront of improving the quality of life for persons affected by Alzheimer's disease (AD). Through the leadership of its founding director, Eric Pfeiffer, MD, the Center has won critical acclaim for its pioneering research in to the causes and treatment of AD and for its commitment for helping family and professional caregivers. The Center provide the following services: DIRECT PATIENT CARE: Assessment and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other memory problems SUPPORT FOR CAREGIVERS: Caregiver seminars, caregiver newsletter, and information & referral Alzheimer's RESEARCH: Laboratory and clinical drug studies TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS: Conferences, workshops, educational material INFORMATION DISSEMINATION: Publications and resource material
