Dr. B. H. Kwa is Professor and Chair of Global Health at the University of South Florida's College of Public Health. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia and his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was Nuffield Fellow at Imperial College, London, England in 1976-77; W.H.O. Visiting Scientist and Fellow in Tropical Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in 1984-85; Fulbright Fellow in Malaysia in 1998-99. His current research is on parasitic diseases in Honduras and the risk of infection to civilian and military relief personnel there. He had previously worked on filariasis, taeniasis/cysticercosis, sparganosis and other parasitic infections.
