Our Mission

As mentioned above, our recent name change reflects the global impact of humanitarian crises and our organization's proactive mission which is to a) facilitate collaborative education and training, applied and operational research as well as b) facilitate information and communication services between disaster response and humanitarian assistance agencies (e.g. governments, disaster relief organizations, the military, NGOs, PVOs) and c) assist them in being better prepared in their strategies for responding to complex humanitarian emergencies.

This mission requires greater cooperation between civilian and military organizations to transport supplies, coordinate disaster relief staff, volunteers and donations, and to rebuild destroyed areas.

To ensure more efficient management of international disaster relief resources, the center networks with major participants in disaster response: regional disaster management organizations, national emergency management offices, civil defense groups, health organizations, communication experts, engineers, non-governmental agencies, etc.
