Bahamas - Hurricane Isabel - September 11-16, 2003

In September of 2003, as hurricane Isabel was approaching the islands of the Bahamas, two experts from our Disaster Response Team at the Global CDMHA at USF traveled to Nassau to assist the Bahamas National Disaster Management and Preparedness Office with their emergency operations.

The Global CDMHA team has been working with the Bahamian office since March of 2003 to facilitate the upgrade, enhancement and development of a comprehensive emergency management plan. Our Disaster Response Team was totally self-sufficient, and went to Nassau solely as consultants.
