Overview

The Global CDMHA as USF provides education and training in areas that are of vital importance to disaster management and humanitarian assistance.

By facilitating, underwriting and cosponsoring such activities as educational course development, workshops, and conferences, the Global CDMHA as USF further enhances the operational readiness of emergency personnel and meets the diverse humanitarian needs of the various regions subject to natural and man made hazards.

The Global CDMHA as USF currently offers a Certificate in Disaster Management (on-line ONLY), which you can read information about in the University of South Florida's Distance Learning Program site at http://www.publichealth.usf.edu/dlp/. The Disaster Management Graduate Certificate is listed under the "Academic Programs".

The Global CDMHA at USF also currently offers a course related to Terrorism Counter Action and is available at both undergraduate and graduate level. The possibility of offering a certificate in Terrorism Counter Action is being reviewed at this time in which other courses would be offered too. However, the academic and administrative process for obtaining a certificate status takes time and may not be granted until the end of 2004.

Nevertheless, the course can be taken as a non degree-seeking student, and applied towards the certification once and if the status is granted by the university. Click on the link below to learn more about the course. You will need the Acrobat Reader program to view the file.
