Welcome to the Florida Gamma Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, medical honor society. It is our goal to recognize outstanding medical students and faculty who contribute to the betterment of the community through their leadership, scholarship and commitment to patient care and service. As outlined by the national office, “Election to Alpha Omega Alpha is a lifelong honor and membership in the society confers recognition for a physician's dedication to the profession and art of healing.” Students in the top quartile are eligible for election and only one sixth of the class is ultimately chosen. Each spring a select number of junior students are invited to join; the remainder are elected during the fall of senior year. Each year the chapter also has the opportunity to elect up to two faculty and one alumnus for membership. Please contact our office to be added to the mailing list or for more information.
