Take the MCAT in the Spring: This allows you to have the largest window of "interviewability." The later you take the MCAT, the more it may impact the time you are included in the interview pool. The interview window is from late September through April.

Research Medical School Programs: Ensure that you meet or exceed the qualifications for the program. What are the minimum GPA/MCAT requirements? Are there state or US citizenship requirements? Does the program produce clinical, research, or both types of physicians? Does the program offer you the urban/rural and multi- cultural experiences in quality training facilities? What type of student support is available for you?

Complete Applications Early: While the AMCAS and College of Medicine application deadlines are in December/January, interviews begin in late September. Please keep in mind that applicants are admitted weekly, there will be fewer open seats available the longer it takes you to complete your application.

Keep AMCAS Address Information Current: You cannot be invited for an interview or given "good" news if we cannot contact you.
