       Dear Fellows,

The upcoming ACGME site visit is an extremely important process that will ensure the continued success of our ID fellowship program. It is essential that you discuss your role in this process with Dr. Wills. He will be meeting with you at 4:30pm preceding the Tuesday night conference on March 18th.

The fellows are scheduled to meet with the site visitor as a group between 10-11:30am 3/26 at 17 Davis. Dr. Wills, Dr. Gompf and I will have met with the site visitor that morning. The site review will be conducted by Deborah Jones, PhD, Field Representative from the ACGME.

Our program has an excellent record in that we have participated in these reviews every five years. For programs without solid academic track records, these visits can occur as frequently as yearly. Recall some of our strong points are:
    • Board performance,
    • Teaching of clinical skills; and
    • Bench research opportunities with Fred Heinzel, Paul Shapshak and at the Clinical Research Unit at the Hillsborough Health Dept.

If you have any questions about this, or if there is any additional information we can give you to ensure the success of our site visit, please call me or Dr. Wills at your earliest convenience. We all really appreciate your attitudes and accomplishments.
