Dr. Perron did his undergraduate training at the University of Ottawa in Canada and graduated from medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine in New York. He completed his medical residency at the Seton Hall School in Jersey City, NJ and fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in New York. He is currently Assistant Professor of Medicine with the Division of Geriatric Medicine at USF, Medical Director of Canterbury Towers Nursing Home and Medical Director of Palliative Care Services at Tampa General Hospital. He is actively involved in patient care, education of fellows, residents and medical students.

Dr. Perron is notably involved in a number of organizations. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Geriatric Society, Hillsborough County Medical Society, American Medical Director's Association, and the Florida Medical Director's Association. He currently holds a position as Commander with the United States Naval Reserve and he volunteers at the Judeo Christian Clinic in Tampa, FL.
