Dr. Jaen-Vinuales graduated from the University of Barcelona School of Medicine in Spain. He completed his medical residency in Internal Medicine at the Carney Hospital (Boston University) in Boston, and fellowship in Geriatrics at the Medical College of Virgina/McGuire VAMC in Richmond. He was the Medical Director of Lakeshore Villas from August 2001 until August 2005. He is currently Assistant Professor with the Division of Geriatrics, and Medical Director at Baldomero Lopez State Veteran's Nursing Home in Tampa, FL. He is actively involved in patient care, education of fellows, residents and medical students.

Dr. Jaen-Vinuales is involved in a number of organizations. He is a member of the Florida Medical Director's Association (FMDA) Education Committee, and Chair of the FMDA Subcommittee Training Course for New Providers in Long Term Care. He volunteers at the Judeo Christian Clinic in Tampa, FL.
