FACULTY INFORMATION
 
 
Richard F. Lockey, MD,  Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics and Public Health; Division Director; Joy McCann Culverhouse Endowed Chair in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Lockey has been the Director of the Division since 1983. He is a graduate of Temple University College of Medicine and completed his training in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is a Past-President of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and  a past Director of the Board of Allergy and Immunology.  He is a current member-at-large of the World Allergy Organization (WAO).
 
Stuart M. Brooks, MD, Professor of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, College of Public Health. Dr. Brooks is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. His primary interest is occupational airway diseases and conditions.
 
Samuel C. Bukantz, MD, Professor of Medicine, Director Emeritus. Dr. Bukantz is a graduate of New York University College of Medicine. He founded the training program in allergy and immunology at the University of South Florida in 1972.   Dr. Bukantz is recognized nationally and inter-nationally and is a past editor of Hospital Practice, a past Vice-President of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and  a past Director of the Board of Allergy and Immunology.
 
Noorbibi Day, PhD, Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. Day received her PhD from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is the director of the Clinical Immunoparameter Laboratory at All Children's Hospital. Her research interests include complement deficiencies and immunodeficiency diseases.
 
Morna J. Dorsey, MD, MMSc, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine.  Dr. Dorsey completed her MD and pediatric residency at the University of South Florida.  She completed a three-year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Children's Hospital, Boston, Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Dorsey is a graduate of the Scholars in Clinical Sciences Program at Harvard Medical School.  Her current research projects focus on the immunologic mechanisms of asthma and atopic diseases.  She is director of the allergy clinic at All Children's Hospital. 
 
 
Roger W. Fox, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Fox is a graduate of St. Louis University College of Medicine and completed his training in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology at the University of South Florida. He supervises the teaching and rotation schedules of the residents and fellows. His primary research interests are allergic skin diseases and upper airway diseases.
 
Rama Ganguly, PhD, MPH, Professor of Medicine, Divisions of Allergy and Immunology and Infectious Disease. Dr. Ganguly received her PhD from Calcutta University, India. She did a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas in the Department of Microbiology. She also received her MPH from the University of South Florida. Dr. Ganguly has expertise in epidemiology and community and family health.
 
Mark C. Glaum, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics.  Dr. Glaum received his medical degree and doctoral degree in Immunology from MCP/ Hahnemann University.  Dr. Glaum continued on to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he pursued fellowship training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.  Dr. Glaum also holds a Master of Science in Physiology from Hahnemann University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fordham University. 
 
Sandra Gonzalez Gompf, MD, Assistant Professor (joint appointment) Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Division of Infectious and Tropical Diseases.  Dr. Gompf is a faculty member of the CDC/Florida STD/HIV Prevention Training Center since 1995.
 
Mary L. Jelks, MDAffiliate Assistant Professor of Medicine.  Dr. Jelks received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska.  She completed her internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and then taught clinical allergy for two years at the University of Florida.  Dr. Jelks' research interest is allergen identification and aeroallergen qualification.
 
Monroe J. King, DO, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. Dr. King is a graduate of Chicago College of Osteopathy and completed his training at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan. Dr. King served in the United States Navy as an allergist and task force surgeon for 29 years.
 
Dennis K. Ledford, MD, Professor of Medicine. Dr. Ledford received his degree in medicine from the University of Tennessee. He completed his fellowship in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at New York University and his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at USF.  Dr. Ledford is currently serving as a Director on the Board of Allergy and Immunology.  His research interests include steroid-resistant/dependent asthma and nasal polyposis. 
 
Shyam S. Mohapatra, PhD, Professor of Medicine and Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Director of Basic Research in the Division of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Mohapatra did his doctoral research at the Australian National University, Canberra. Following post-doctoral training at the University of Bielefeld, Germany and McGill University, Montreal, He became Faculty at the Department of Immunology, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg (1988-1996).  His present research interests focus on development of DNA vaccines against allergy and asthma, molecular pathology of RSV infection, and immunogenetic regulation of IgE response.
 
Mitchel J. Seleznick, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine. He received his degree in medicine from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, New York and completed his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Stanford University, California.  Dr. Seleznick is also board certified in rheumatology.
 
Mandel R. Sher, MD, Affiliate Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine. Dr. Sher graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago and completed his fellowship in Asthma and Immunology at The University of Michigan.
 
John W. Sleasman, MD, Professor and Chief, Department of Pediatrics, All Children's Hospital.  Robert A. Good Professor of Immunology, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology.  He received his medical degree at University of Tennessee.  Completed his clinical fellow at University of Florida and research fellowship at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School.
 
Brett E. Stanaland, MD, Affiliate Assistant Professor of Medicine. Dr. Stanaland received his degree in medicine from the University of South Florida. He also completed his fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at USF.
 
G. Edward Stewart II, MD, Affiliate Assistant Professor of Medicine.  Dr. Stewart received his degree in medicine from the University of Tennessee.  After completing his training in medicine, Dr. Stewart became certified in allergy and immunology at the University of South Florida.  He is past President of the Florida Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society.
 
Nutthapong Tangsinmankong, MD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine. Dr. Tangsinmankong completed his fellowship training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at University of South Florida/All Children's Hospital.
 
Hugh H. Windom, MD, Affiliate Assistant Professor of Medicine. Dr. Windom received his degree in medicine from Duke University and completed a research fellowship at the University of Otago, Wellington, New Zealand. His fellowship in Allergy and Immunology was at Johns Hopkins Asthma and Allergy Center. His current research interests include aspirin sensitive asthma.
