CURRENT STUDIES
 

The USF Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is located just north of the campus and conducts pharmaceutical,

division investigator initated, and grant sponsored clinical research trials. 

 

The CRU has experience in phase II, III and IV, adult and pediatric clinical trials. The Division’s Clinical Research Unit provides quality research in a variety of clinical areas, which include the following:

 

·        osteoporosis            

·        rheumatoid arthritis  

·        allergic conjunctivitis

·    allergen immunotherapy

·        acute sinusitis           

·        chronic sinusitis        

·        allergen skin testing             

·        allergic rhinitis

·        atopic eczema                                              

·        COPD                                   

·        asthma- adult and pediatric

·        acute urticaria           

·        chronic urticaria        

·        bronchitis                              

·        vasomotor rhinitis

·        contact dermatitis    

·        insect allergy             

·        intravenous immunoglobulin           

·        exercise induced asthma

·        headache (migraine/tension)                                  

·        immunodeficiency disease 

·        temporomandibular joint disease

                                                           

The funds generated from such studies are used to support our 3-year research and training program in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

 

Pharmaceutical and Division studies that were or are active in 2007-2008 include ten asthma studies, four allergy studies and ten COPD studies.
