- Organ-system based approach
- Small group skills training in clinical settings with standardized patients and preceptors.
- Adds advanced maneuvers and abnormal findings to clinical skills.
- Refreshes basic physician-patient communication skills and students practice advanced skills (e.g. delivering bad news and meeting with difficult patients.)
- Each student is observed by faculty while conducting a complete history and physical exam and receives immediate critique and feedback.
- Students take an active role in designing "exam demo" presentations that focus on key learning points.
- Students attend Public Sector Medicine Program "free" community clinics with USF faculty and staff, while gaining valuable exposure to an underserved local population.
