Physical Diagnosis II

  • Organ-system based approach
  • Small group skills training in clinical settings with standardized patients and preceptors.
  • Adds advanced maneuvers and abnormal findings to clinical skills.
  • Refreshes basic physician-patient communication skills and students practice advanced skills (e.g. delivering bad news and meeting with difficult patients.)
  • Each student is observed by faculty while conducting a complete history and physical exam and receives immediate critique and feedback.
  • Students take an active role in designing "exam demo" presentations that focus on key learning points.
  • Students attend Public Sector Medicine Program "free" community clinics with USF faculty and staff, while gaining valuable exposure to an underserved local population.
