Division of Clinical Pharmacy

I am pleased to present you the new USF Health Division of Clinical Pharmacy. The creation of this new division represents USF Health’s commitment to interdisciplinary practice throughout all of its health disciplines. It also serves notice of the continued progress of the profession of pharmacy into the clinical realm. With the creation of the USF Health Division of Clinical Pharmacy, an enormous opportunity is now presented before all clinical pharmacists to expand the endeavors of the profession.

The Division of Clinical Pharmacy is seeking to expand its involvement by attracting motivated, industrious, accomplished clinical pharmacy practitioners. We seek to utilize the unique talents that the clinical pharmacists in the Tampa area possess; the growth of this new division cannot occur without the volunteer efforts of many qualified individuals. By assisting in the growth of this new division, not only will you be contributing significantly to the profession of pharmacy, you will be one of the originators of a truly unique pharmacy entity within the state of Florida.

We are currently seeking 10 to 15 individuals to be assigned to adjunct clinical professorships within USF Health/Division of Clinical Pharmacy. Those pharmacists that choose to apply will be asked to serve in one of two areas:

  • Research – Involvement in Translation Clinical Research with researchers from USF Health /College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Public Health, and school of Physical Therapy. Provisions for enhanced access to research resources will be provided.
  • Education – involvement in educational activities including, but not limited to, medical students, pharmacy students, nursing students and physical therapy students. Activities will be measured on a yearly basis, with minimal impact on professional and personal responsibilities.
Currently, the adjunct clinical professorships will be on a volunteer basis. However, the reward of personal professional development, as well as significant contributions to the professional development of health professions students will reflect your magnanimous character. Let history show that a core number of clinical pharmacists were the originators of the USF Health Division of Clinical Pharmacy that became nationally recognized for its research and educational endeavors. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your positive responses.
