First Aid Book
College of Medicine · Class of 2009

Introduction

What does First Aid mean to you? It will soon become your studying bible, when you have to take the comprehensive final exams (NBME Flex exams) at the end of Block B2 you will soon realize the magic of the First Aid books. Many also use them to guide their studying for Step 1 of the medical Boards at the end of the second year.

What does 12-PAC's First Aid mean to you? It will be your first year bible. The College of Medicine Class of 2009 and the Doctors of Physical Therapy Class of 2008 all helped to contribute the most important information that you need to survive your first year at USF.

Keep in mind that USF is continually making modifications and advancements in the curriculum; therefore your class may have different experiences. For example our class was the first to have our first Block B2 test (gross anatomy, physiology, physical diagnosis, etc) covering the first six weeks of material. Fortunately for your class this material will most likely be split up. This year was also the first year that lectures were video-streamed and available online, of course imagine what this did for studying (and class attendance!).

The First Aid book will be your inside source to everything you need to get by. You will find out that not ALL 100 of the required texts are actually necessary to buy, you will find out various successful studying techniques, you will find out that South Tampa is a great place to live, and who would have thought that you will also find out that you shouldn't eat yellow snow!
