Purpose

The purpose of Cardiology Interest Group shall be to:

• Increase awareness of and interest in the field of cardiology among university
  students and the local community
• Educate medical students about the subspecialty of cardiology
• Assist students in finding a physician mentor
• Provide opportunities for leadership development
• Assist in the process of residency searches
• Facilitate interaction among medical students interested in cardiology
• Provide services with in our community to promote heart healthy lifestyles

• Participation in the AHA Heart Walk
• Bimonthly informational meetings
• Workshops on subjects such as reading EKG's and listening to heart sounds
