Internet Explorer 7.0 Information

The following information provides clarification concerning the upgrade to Internet Explorer 7.0.

 

 

I.                     Your use of USF Systems/applications is potentially affected by updating to Internet Explorer 7.0.

While the Health Information Technology department encourages safe computing practices that include updating computer operating systems and security patches, it is important that systems used commonly at USF are able to function properly. 
Systems potentially affected by upgrading to Internet Explorer 7.0 include: 

 GEMS, FAST, OASIS/BANNER, CERTS
 

If you need to access these systems, USF HEALTH IT recommends not attempting the upgrade to IE 7.0 until further notice.

 

II.                   Here is a description of the process to prevent the installation of Internet Explorer 7.0 and yet keep your system up to date with the latest security and operating system patches.  Click Here to access the help guide.

 

 

III.                  If you have installed Internet Explorer 7.0 and need to know how to remove it and reinstall Internet Explore 6.0, follow these instructions on how to remove Internet Explorer 7.0 and reinstall Internet Explore 6.0:

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7.0:

1)       Click on "Start"

2)       Select "Control Panel"

3)       Double-click "Add or Remove Software"

4)       In the window that opens along the left-hand side, double click "Add/Remove Windows Components"

5)       Uncheck the box next to "Internet Explorer" and click the "Next" button and Internet Explorer will be removed. Then click "Finish".

 

To Re-install Internet Explorer 6.0, go to the following Microsoft website to download and install the software:
