Multi-media Lab Information
Information Systems · General Information

There is a Multi-media Lab located in the Health Sciences Center.

  • Location:
Shimberg Health Sciences Library (near the Library Computer Lab)
  • Hours:
Same as the library hours of operation

HSC faculty, staff, and students may use the three computers located in this lab. Customers will be able to transfer Power Point slides to slide film; to digitize and edit slides, documents, images, transparencies, and video; to create CD-R, CD-RW and DVD+RW discs; to publish streaming video; and to print to black&white or color PAY-FOR-PRINT printers. To see details of what the Multimedia Lab contains, please click on the link at the bottom of this page.

Since this lab has technologies that few people have yet mastered, we offer many options for anyone who needs assistance.
  • Instructions: There is a notebook of instructions kept in the lab for self-help.
  • Assistance: For any questions you may have and/or help getting started on a project, we have a technician available M-F 8-5.
  • Training: To learn how to use all of the functions of the Multi-media lab, we have training classes available.
  • Video Projects: If you do not have time to do a video capture project yourself, then you can use our Premium Professional Services. These services include (for a fee to your departmental account) capturing video for HSC customers.
  • Non-IS Option: If you do not have time to do a slide shooting, scanning, designing, or developing project on your own, the HSC Media Center offers these services for a fee.

Do not leave any documents on the lab computers' hard drives -- documents that are not part of the original programming will be deleted.

If any hardware fails in the lab, please contact HSC Information Services at 974-6288 or come to our front desk (MDC 1054) for assistance.
