About the International Programs Office

In cooperation with USF's Dean of International Affairs, USF Health's International Programs Office:

  • Establishes study abroad, service learning and field placement sites for USF Health students. Our students have conducted field work in a wide range of countries, including Panama, India, Venezuela, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Costa Rica, Barbados, Bolivia, the Philippines, Thailand, South Africa, and Ethiopia.
  • Serves as the academic family for international students studying at USF Health, helping them make the transition, negotiate obstacles and connect with mentors and colleagues in a new home away from home.
  • Advises on strategies to bring potential partners together, and develops and implements agreements for international education and research projects.

  • Provides direction and support for curriculum development related to global health.
  • Through workshops and seminars fosters skills needed for success in the global arena, including cultural competency, leadership and ethics, and awareness of safety issues.

We welcome any ideas you may have about strengthening the international dimension of USF Health. We are building the prototype for integrating health in Tampa, Florida. And we want to improve health around the world.
