All Children’s Hospital is the only specialty licensed children’s hospital on Florida’s west coast. Founded in 1926, All Children’s has grown into a leading pediatric referral center that is dedicated to advancing treatment, education, research and advocacy in child health. The first hospital in Pinellas County, Bayfront Medical Center is a 502-bed hospital, operated as a private, not for profit hospital by BayCare Health System.  Bayfront is noted for its outstanding Level 11 Trauma Center and Bayflite medical emergency helicopter program; its premier women's program that includes obstetrics, gynecology, surgical services, pediatrics; and a high-tech neuroscience center.

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is located near St. Petersburg/Seminole and provides comprehensive medical care including acute/in-patient medical, surgical, and psychiatric care; extended/long-term medical and psychiatric care, rehabilitative inpatient care; and comprehensive outpatient care with multiple specialty services available.  In addition, the Medical Center supervises a community nursing home care program which is one of the largest in the VA system. This Dean’s Committee facility also operates a large outpatient clinic in Fort Myers and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Dunedin, St. Petersburg, Ellenton, Sarasota, Port Charlotte, Naples and Sebring, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Florida, Florida Hospital Orlando uses the latest technology to treat over 32,000 inpatients and 53,600 outpatients annually. This 881-bed, acute-care community hospital also serves as a major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America.

The Medical Examiner Facility is located in downtown Tampa near the St. Petersburg Times Forum, between Brorein and Platt Streets.  Autopsies are performed 7 days per week, with over 1200 autopsies performed each year.  Five hundred of these deaths are referred by hospitals.  Approximately 40% of the deaths are caused by disease, 20% by motor vehicle crashes, 20% by other accidental means, 10% by suicide, and 10% by homicide.  Foster improved medical care by disseminating autopsy results to physicians and by functioning as a teaching affiliate of the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

The Tampa VA Hospital is one of two Dean’s Committee Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals in the Tampa Bay area.  The Haley VA is licensed for 640 beds including 209 beds in its Nursing Home Care Unit adjacent to the main hospital.  As a primary teaching site for the USF College of Medicine, the VA Hospital is connected to the USF Health Sciences Center by a covered walkway.  The medical center provides opportunities for training in all adult fields and also provides specialty care in its Women's Center, Spinal Cord Injury Center, and Rehabilitation/Traumatic Brain Injury Center.

Moffitt Cancer Center is a not for-profit institution. It includes private patient rooms, the Southeast’s largest Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, outpatient treatment programs that record more than 135, 000 visits a year, the Moffitt Research Center, The Moffitt Clinic at Tampa General Hospital and the Lifetime Cancer Screening Center, and is closely integrated with the USF College of Medicine.  In 2003, Moffitt opened its doors to the new Moffitt Clinic and Vincent A. Stabile Research Building. These two buildings dramatically increase the existing research and outpatient clinical space to better serve our patients.

Turley Family Health Center
As a Morton Plant Mease resident, your education will revolve around Turley Family Health Center, our modern community-based facility in Clearwater. Established in 1980 within the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Suncoast Alzheimer's Gerontology Center has been at the forefront of improving the quality of life for persons  affected by Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Through the leadership of its founding director, Eric Pfeiffer, MD, the Center has won critical acclaim for its pioneering research in to the causes and treatment of AD and for its commitment for helping family and professional caregivers.

University Community Hospital—named for its proximity to the University of South Florida and for its charter as a not-for-profit, community hospital—opened its doors in 1968. The hospital was built to serve the general medical and surgical needs of the growing north Tampa area.  Since it opened, the hospital has grown to become a 963-bed regional health care system, University Community Health, with four locations spanning Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.  University Community Health provides strategic medical care through the development of specialized Centers of Excellence that focus resources on major disease areas including cardiac care, cancer treatment, women's health, pediatrics, diabetes management and orthopaedics. UDI is a freestanding imaging center located on the campus of the University of South Florida. It is a teaching and research center providing the University's physicians and scientists with diagnostic procedures for patient treatment including Magnetic Resonance Imaging, CAT scanning and nuclear medicine.

USF Medical Center

The home of the Department of Family Medicine and location for many of the ambulatory care and other integrated clinical teaching courses, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Neurology, Radiology and Pathology.  This multi-specialty, diagnostic and treatment center designed to provide comprehensive healthcare on an ambulatory basis to patients from the Central and Gulf Coast regions of Florida.

 

South Tampa Center for Advanced Healthcare

This facility opened in August 2007 and combines world-class health care with a state-of-the-art building designed to facilitate learning in health teams. Located on the Tampa General Hospital campus, USF faculty in the departments of Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Neurology, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine provide clinical services at this new location. Students may participate in such rotations generally during their fourth elective year.

 

Carol and Frank Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare

Scheduled to open in March 2008, this 196,000 square foot facility offers eight ambulatory surgery centers and six endoscopy suites, located in the medical complex at the USF Tampa campus.  Students will train with faculty from Neurosurgery, Neurology and Psychiatry, Digestive Disorders, ENT, Sports Medicine and Women's Health.

 

17 Davis Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center

This facility offers general pediatrics care as well as management of such chronic illnesses as asthma, allergies, AIDS, and pre- and post-surgical care. Located on Davis Islands near Tampa General Hospital, the pediatrics center takes a family-centered approached to pediatric care with an emphasis on comfort and convenience. The center is open seven days a week, and provides treatment for minor emergencies.

 

Harbourside Medical Center

The USF Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center is located at this facility on the Tampa General Hospital campus.  The Center is a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence.  Patients visiting this location receive evaluation and care of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders including tremor and dystonia.

Located on the USF campus, the USF Psychiatry Clinic offers a bio-psychosocial approach to mental health with a team that provides multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment to people of all ages and needs.  Services include:• Comprehensive evaluation and consultation • Individual short-term or long-term therapy • Group therapy • Couples therapy • Family therapy • Medication and medical management • Psychological testing • Cognitive training • Neuro-stimulation.  Linked to the USF Medical Clinics, the Center is the site of the USF College of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine.  It also houses laboratories working in areas of genetic and psychiatric research.
