About USF AHEC Program Library Services
The USF AHEC Program provides free library services to health care providers serving the medically underserved in Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, and Charlotte counties. These services include:
- Reference materials for clinical sites
- Interlibrary loan of journal articles and loan of AHEC-owned books and other materials
- Internet and database training at clinical sites
- Database and Internet searches
- HSCNet accounts providing access to the USF Health Science Center Library electronic resources. To request an account, print out and complete the USF ID Card application and mail it to the address below along with a photocopy of legal identification (valid driver's license, passport, or State/Federal government photo identification card) and a recent passport picture or passport quality photo (head shot facing camera with white background, minimum size 2" X 2"). Upon approval of your application, you will have AHEC Courtesy Faculty Status, which entitles you only to access to the USF Health library resources. - Shimberg Health Sciences Library Resources
- Databases - select database from the lefthand navigation bar, login using your HSCNet username and password
- E-Journals - login using the bottom number on your USF ID card
- AHEC-owned books, audio-visuals and other materials for circulation via the new USF Libraries Catalog: Available materials
- Financial Resources for Students Financial information to support a career in health care
